Most cancer treatments require the products derived from the various types of blood donation so it's one of the best ways to help.

We had time to spend every last moment with him while he was in palliative care. I was there every day. I learnt my lesson from when I thought my grandma was a superhero and would pull through no matter what. I didn't spend anywhere near enough time with her in her final moments and regret it to this day. I didn't make the same mistake this time. Even though my dad's brain functions were extremely limited and he could barely recognise us in his final interactive days, I got a "bye" in his last interactive day before his coma. I'll cherish that forever.

Sounds like you did the best thing you could do. I never got to say goodbye and I'm sure it didn't help me get over it mentally. That would have been very hard to watch happen over the two years so good on you for sticking it out with him, I'm sure it meant everything to your old man. I hope when it's my time that I'll have someone there like you were for him.
