Yep - there are a fair few that were open 24/5 or 24/7, but most of those have gone back to midnight closing mon/fri - 10pm sat/sun

Much nicer shopping when you have the whole store to yourself

^this. I so rarely go to the shops it actually doesn't really bother me all that much to be completely honest.

Delivery works for me for the weekly shop - works brilliantly

Sort by specials - works out cheaper even after the delivery cost than if I was browsing with the trolley

Can work out and order each meal individually instead of trying to remember all the items in aisle order

Can check the fridge/cupboard mid order for stuff I may have missed or am unsure if I have any

Can log back in and make changes/additions after I've submitted the order - no more "ah f*ck - forgot toilet paper" when I get home from the shop

No impulse purchases

No need to deal with the scum that congregate around Frankston Quayside

No need to worry about parking.

One of the girls who deliver is pretty cute

Packing jobs will be done by robots in a couple of decades, automated cars might mean delivery is done without human intervention too!

No more cutting your teeth in the workforce by working the checkout aisles.  Probably no night fill either, people just won't go to the shops any more for standard shopping, only for special oddities I reckon.

My first proper job was running the dishwasher at Joe's Fish Shack in Freo.  Was on that 2 months then went to work for my uni friend at his computer store ASAP!  Stuck up waitresses never even send a smile your way if you're dish pig.

I worked at subway for 3 weeks as my first job...they blew goats so I went and worked at Coles straight after that she was there for like 6 years (with a 1 year break working at Kmart in the minilab and tv/DVD/games section) during high school and uni. Enough shops for me fly life.
