Yeah those input shafts are like $2k - LOL.  Luke was looking at some overseas part as an in between spec I think?

All clear now, I was just confused why you were talking about stock parts and mentioning $5k prices.  No need to buy a new (stock) box unless it's milkshaked.  Also buying input shaft and flexplate upgrades for a tuned T but leaving the rest stock will only get you a worn out stock box that needs a rebuild again.

Mine has been upgraded in terms of flex plate and internals when I rattled the flex plate off at the drags, but retains stock input shaft since I had a factory heat treated one that "if you haven't broken it yet, you won't break it".  Done me well so far!

well... you rarely (if ever) hear of a billet one breaking, but cryo'd ones have failed in the same way that stock ones have... the $$ is worth it if you ask anybody who's paid for it (as long as you're looking to lean on it, of course... no point buying up if you're not going to go past 330kW :P

I have heard of a few billet ones going from different manufacturers

What I.Will say is though it comes down to the driver and their respect for the equipment

Lol

Is it about 5k for a stage 2 with upgraded flex plate?

sorry I meant ~5k for stage 2 with upgraded input shaft.

5.5k is more accurate.
