Yeah...pretty much. I've been to so many weddings flying solo that I'm really over celebrating someone else's happiness. Best wedding I ever went to was one of my good mates. They went and signed the paperwork at the registrars office and we all suited up and met them at Little Creatures and proceeded to get sh*tfaced. All up, including rings and a bar tab, it cost them $3.5k. Had all the bits everyone likes (suiting up and drinking) and none of the crap no-one else but the couple cares about. Later we went back to there place and got stuck into some 18 yr old Glenfiddich and cubans...was a great night!

I generally dont care if othwr people get married coz who gives a chit if they decide to sign a piece of paper.. nothing to do with me unless its me or my kids etc... I see minimal point in weddings... money they spent on the wedding tonight was probably enough for a sizeable chunk off a mortgage etc. Dont get me wrong... I appreciated it and was happy for them...I just dont get the whole thing tbh.

When it happens to us it's likely to be either a backyard do or at a town hall/public oval. Pizzas and drinks for everyone!

Pro tip: Get super pissed, make a spectacle of yourself and embarrass them on their big day. That'll teach them for getting married (and they'll never do it again)!

I feel that large chunk of money would serve better paid off a mortgage or on a rad holiday or something. Each their own and all that, but meh.

I was dying inside on how much it was gonna cost But once the big day came, it's all forgotten Spending the same on a big holiday isn't much difference IMHO Paying off your mortgage is smart, but how often do we ever do the smart thing in life Smart is boring most of the time

It's a lot of money for 1 day...a holiday at least would be spread over a decent chunk of time. sh*t, $26k could get me a farking rad holiday over a few weeks...would be sick. But like I said, each their own. You enjoyed your day and don't regret the spent so it doesn't matter what I think.
