Pretty frustrating after having the shop recommended from other car guys...can only try your best but goes to show you never really know for sure.

Clunking noise in the taxi on Saturday night.

Initial diagnosis last night was hydraulic lash adjuster.

Did the oil flush/fresh oil/Nulon Lifter Free.

Took the car to workshop today.

By the time I got there it sounded like the bottom end was ready to implode.

$1,000 for a secondhand motor to be fitted.

Every other wanker taxi owner doesn't maintain their car at all. I maintain mine properly and the motor goes. BFs don't go through engines, which is why taxi workshops have spare motors all over the pace.

Always the way Phil, look after them and they treat you bad in return

One of my mates has a "mitsi" triton, he didn't change engine oil for 40k

Still going strong, turbo didn't even blow after having grease like mud pumping through it

Cars are @ssholes sometimes

Yep.

&^%$# car is obviously female.

Might put the old engine in the back of the ute to pull it apart and try and figure out what happened. Dump engine at tip when done.
