They replaced it at their own cost, but I didn't like the idea that they'd had to take the head off to check stuff and didn't trust it after...so sold it. Plus I had no debt at the time and thought f*ck it, I'm gonna buy a car I want...which was when I got my FG turbo...Should have just stuck with the magna and motorbike...god I miss my bike now :(

Seems like I could get a decent sedan or Ute for around the $15k mark. Would love to stretch for a tornado, but wondering if I'd then be defeating the purpose of selling the SS. At the same time though, would be enough of a car to keep my interest, rather than hating driving it!You can get a BF Typhoon easily enough for around $15,000. Tornados are also around that price, but a good condition one goes for a bit more.BF XR6Ts... maybe 10 grand for a decent one. It's a buyers market right now. Lots of toys on the market... no buyers.I'm not looking forward to trying to sell my blue Tornado, but the Dubbo one was too good a package to pass up on. Get a base Falcon XT for a few grand and then transfer the driveline and interior over.Even got the XR front end there. Bonus.

It actually gets to a point that if you want into the market you need to stop thinking too much about price and just get in there. Now in saying that I don't mean pay so much that when the market does slump you have a mortgage that is bigger than the value of the property. On the toys side, I earn pretty good money but I know the toys I accumulate now have to last me as I won't have a chance for a long time once kids come into the equation and it's single income. So I'm almost there I have the ute, got 1 jetski which is 155hp and am currently working on a 2nd 255hp fun ski so me and the girl have 1 each. Luckily I already own my property and it has a small house on it but its going to cost me big time when we build a house the way we want it.But like you there is no way a swift will be in my garage, I'd rather slam my dick in a draw than have to drive one.

Bonus.I don't have the space, nor mechanical skills to do a conversation myself Phil...so would just end up costing me too much don't a conversion. And wiener, that's also something I'm mindful of...which, again, is why it's worth considering that my current car could last me the next 10 years and I'll enjoy driving it. You also have an older car without the fruit. If you are enjoying the SS without mods on it then stop spending money on changing cars around and just stick with it...until you are comfy financially with a house well under control. Then either mod it or buy another.Money is there to be spent, just try to spend it on the right things that will provide a livable future as well as fun right now. I paid my car off a couple of years ago and don't plan on moving it on as you know. It's got enough power to be fun but durable. If God forbid the engine goes, they are not rare and expensive to track down. I do have to pay some bucks for upkeep on it, no denying that, but I'd rather keep it running than sell it and get a boring car that would drive me crazy like NHASP said. I also only have to pay rego/insurance for one car this way.The only reason I'd buy another is to reduce the kms being put on it....but that would be an expensive luxury. I can't buy a cheapo $300 car for fear of it being unreliable at work...editI also refuse to become one of those poor blokes that has a story that starts with "Back when I was younger I used to have this awesome car..." and ends with "...but I sold it". I will advertise it for 12 but in reality it's worth f*ck all. Built motor, big clutch and all the fruit but worth f*ck all.
