hey ratter, I have a generic tune from capa, plan to do a cat and turbo back just before I get it tuned (3 hour drive to the nearest tuner) would it be safe just to put down the highway with this tune purely so it wont overboost on the factory tune. mind you, I only run 98 octane and wontbe swapping injectors myself, will wait till its there to do that.

and for the record, my capa tune is for a bog stock car and I use it maybe.. 5% of driving if its lucky..

haha na I dont trust me, didnt like seein a bit of black out the back so now its just waitin till I an get what I need to get it tuned

you would be better off using the factory tune as there will be overboost protection in the tune which would most likely be turned off with the generic tune, try to drive it off boost though and you may be ok

Haha, for this reason (and based on the advice here) I have decided to just go ahead and do the custom tune. Thanks all for your input, it's very much appreciated.
