Hi all,

I have a BA XR6 Turbo 4-speed, I want to find out who supplies the best generic tune. Current modifications (but no tune done as yet - haven't driven it yet since upgrading):

- GT2 Hybrid Intercooler

- Walbro Fuel Pump

- Bosch 968 Injectors

- Upgraded Valve Springs

- XCAL 3 Unit

I am aware that a custom tune is better, I'm just after info on the generic tune for now so I can still use my car until I can get the custom tune done. Who supplies the best generic tunes for this purpose? Also, if I change my fuel pump and not my injectors yet, will the car need to be tuned for the fuel pump, or will it be fine? Any info would be much appreciated.

Cheers

Changing the pump shouldn't require a tune.

The best generic tunes will probably come from some of the best tune shops if they do them. I heard the other day that Spiro at Autotech will do them if you're that way inclined.

Dyno'd another generic tune today for a customer that was supplied a generic based on his mods, started getting lean above 4500 and very lean 5000+ where I lifted, customer commented that it goes better on United 100 which indicates it has knock retard already happening on 98.
