And yes brake dust can really show up on the black but overall look cleaner than silver does. Maybe a grey would be a better colour to hide the dust? The clear coat adds a bit of thicknes to the overall finish so you may need to make sure the wheel nut holes and hub are kept clear. Might look weird with silver in the nut holes lol. Fark! 15 coats haha shiet! But as you said they're tiny holes and can tell by the pics.Maybe just an idea for anyone doing this in the future to try the wheels on and see how much room you have around the wheel brace, tight or plenty of room etc.

I just remember the tutorial saying do real light coats and it doesn't really spray as a fine mist (I guess that's expected given it is rubber compound), so I thought the lighter the better. In hindsight I could have gone thicker on the first few and lighter on the last few. It came out good and I had the wheels off to paint the calipers and hubs so not time lost waiting for coats to dry lol
Rodi Member 6 Member For: 12y 3m 23d Posted 09/08/12 02:18 PM Author Share Posted 09/08/12 02:18 PM I think I'm leaning towards the white plastidip, haven't really seen many blue cars with white rims. Also if needed in the future the coating can always come off so it's a win/win situation. Thanks guys
