The earth will probably fix it as these vehicles need nice clean power to operate 100%. You get all kinds of random crap cropping up when something as simple as an earth isnt working well enough (kinda like Airbus aircraft, very tempremental about power).

More than likely will be the battery, speedo is the first thing to go when battery is on its way out. Will not have anything to do with the coils or tps

:spit:

Was going to suggest that when I first noticed this thread...but figured I'd leave it for you. But yeah :stupid: get the battery tested/swapped before you waste money on anything else.

Tab:

chizz for the tip, im gonna get the battery checked anyway, that would be very frustrating though seen as I bought the battery 6 months ago for $350, its a performace battery for my speaker system, but its putting out 1050 cranking amp when it was tested in my car. So im pretty sure its gonna be earthing or something more serious :/

Yea mate I had my ICC out for sound system install and the problem came up like a year later. Just push it back in hard to make sure its connected properly and ensure everything connected at the bottom is in properly.

The TPS will throw an error code which you should be able to pick up on your new device

Lol @ paulie, battery will also throw tps codes due to comms faults caused by voltge drop at the pcm, generally u codes related to force limited RPM (limp mode) and vehicle speed signal missing

Seeing as battery is in the boot incorrect wiring sizes/ length or bad earth will also cause voltage drop
