What Gauges Does Everyone Use

I like the iridium ones, but as a single dad with three kids I couldnt justify the extra $$$. They are definately good. The oz guages are ok as well. The ones I have are basically the same as the oz guages.

Mechanical boost is old school. So too is mechanical oil. Long gone are the days of having a oil pipe feed in behind the dash. All electric and quite frankly, your are silly to go any other way really. Well, for the street anyway.

Have a hunt around though. You want to try and get something similar to your dash light colour or it will mess with your night vision. Just a thought.

Pulling out the ICC is daunting but not hard, and Ford have conveniently given you a nice, big fat grommett and hole to poke the wires through the firewall.

Here's a picture of mine when I was running single PLX and two Autometer Cobalts.

The Cobalts where fantasic gauge and blended very well, easy to read.

Becareful with some of those stepper gauges as they are very hard to read as the numerals are small.

The Drift gauges are very nice and easy to view.

The PLX ones are fantastic but not cheap.

they are a oled monitor, very thin so can be fitted easily not like some others.

You can run up to 4 sensors per monitor.

Has numerous features like min and max hold, warnings, analog, digital, bar graph, splatter graph and custom screens.

You can set any picture as background as long as it's cropped at correct size.

Change displayed colours etc.

Other options as well but better off googling website and having a read.

The picture I have set on gauge is Jessical Alba. Pretty cool huh.

I'm now running two of them and have a empty pod as sold the Cobalts.

May trade for a FPV pod as since the PLX can run 4 sensors each I won't require

To run a 3rd gauge.

I'm running, oil pressure, and Wideband O2 and want to fit a Eboost2 on pillar.

I will eventually add more sensors to mine like Turbine speed, Turbo oil temp, fuel pressure.

They also have a wifi OBD11 reader that can show perimeters on gauge monitor or iPhone.

It is able to read whatever the ecu is enabled to read. Not 100% on it best to contact them for info.

If you are running 3 gauges, the ones I reckon to run are Oil Pressure, WB O2, and Boost.

Engine water temp is covered by dash cluster.

Oil pressure is very important as is Boost as don't want low oil pressure or over boost.

The WB O2 to monitor AFR's as fuel pumps start to die, or filters clog, you may start leaning your engine and you won't even know it.

As well keeps your tuner honest as you will be able to tell if you have any lean or rich points.

I run a pole position tripod with autometer cobalt full sweep oil pressure, mechanical boost and a aeroforce scan gauge in the middle.

Got the autometers from USA on ebay and the scan gauge from the site above, it plugs into your OBDII port and read just about anything, you can set it up to cycle through readings. I have mine cycling through intake temp, coolant temp, head temp and trans temp.

Technology has come a long way so if your getting gauges of decent quality stick with full electronic. You definitely dont need any pressure lines whether that is oil or air into the cabin. As stated above there is a nice rubber grommet to feed the wires through in the passenger footwell.

Also you can release the spades from the connectors to solder onto which makes a nice tidy job.

Yeah I use my blackberry. I got a cheap little clock to clip onto the air vents but it lost 11 hours over 3 days so chiucked it.

I have heard you can get the iss re programmed to show a clock nbut I beleive it comes at a cost, that is, you loose some other functionality of either the icc or the lcd on tthe instrument cluster.

I used the drift iridium blue series electronic gauges, had a look at them on display and just had to have them, they look tuff and respond very well, I got boost and afm will also get the oil but will have that sitting somewhere else
