I like the idea of involving someone's mum

It depends on how good she is at driving, most are no good once they become mums.

Im 20 and I own a 2008 G6E Turbo, my insurance cost me about 1800 or 1900. Because im under 25 they like to make me pay for the nice things.

So im guessing you'd probably be around the same price as me.

also im with NRMA

Best thing would be to call them up. I did the online quotes and got quotes over 2k most places. But when I called up most were on 2k or just below it. Best off to call and get an accurate figure

Thanks Everyone. Appreciate the tips and comparisons and well wishes on my ride.

I have gone to pick up bread and milk about 15 times since I got it, hahaha, just really enjoying the beast :asciidity:

(Anyone need milk or bread, we're overstocked)

Turns out AAMI and NRMA came out best for me. Given my age being over 30 without accidents for more than 5 years I got moved to a rating 1 even though I have not had insurance for years. :sungum:

To answer my own question for anyone looking at the thread: (Over 30, full points, no accidents, no one under 25 driving car, garaged)

Youi - $1400

GIO - $1400

AMMI - $980 (Agreed Value)

NRMA - $930 (Agreed Value)

Definatley ring around as the online quotes were as much as 1500 more than when doing it over the phone.

AAMI will insure mods, don't think NRMA will

Thanks for the tips on 'Mods', never thought of that before. I still got a few years warranty before I can 'tinker' away under the bonnet but - In any case I can change insurer when I cross that bridge. I will check out 'Progressive Insurance' however, sounds great, I have 21 days cooling off with NRMA. :codemafia:

just make sure both parties are fully conversant with coverage of "roadworthy" as apposed to EPA legally engineered

This may be an oxymoron but check it out none the less
