I have looked for what I need for the last 2-3 days but cant find it.I would like to delete the s3&4 solenoid wires near the ecu but arent sure of the colours or locations. From my understanding putting these wires to 12v will stop the limp mode issues?

Basically,I feel this mod will help my trans select 3rd alot better as a stocky under current power.

Thankyou in advance.

The best thing you can do is a trans cooler and valve body mod if you want to do it on the cheap.

Been their done that bloke unfortunately lol,im on my third stocky and had one built that got drilled due to stock convertor crapping itself(my fault as well).I actually have a proper manual valvebody(sa race street and strip) out of the hammered trans still for the next one.I just want to select 3rd at WOT on the stocky for a few runs mate at the end of the month.I have to fully back off the throttle at the top of 2nd and let it change, then get back on it with it slipping a little still early in third once in lol,as a four speed owner youd get the drift.I ran 122mph like this last meeting and with it fixed hope to see 124-125mph on pump 100 e10 at current power.

this mod will allow maximum line pressure to the clutches I believe and should get me a few proper runs, yeah it aint the most reliable/savoury mod etc but im running with what ive got so just trying to make the most out of it.ill only be doing this for the few runs at the strip, all street duties will be as per normal.

Pin A17 is S3 Solenoid

Pin A18 is S4 Solenoid

Sorry but cant locate the diagram to show which is the A plug and what colour are the wires

You must sink the computer side to ground via a resistor. I have used a 27ohm 5 watt resistor or there abouts from Jaycar. Its a large white ceramic resistor.

You dont need to do anything with the cut wires on the trans side. You just got to trick the ECU into thinking the solenoids are still there on the computer side.

You really should get hold of the factory BA manual on disc or download. Its all in there to work it out. Its somewhere out there on the net for download.

ill buy a cd manual off ebay tonight, cheers.

Just one wire per solenoid. So just cut the ecu wire, attach the resistor and connect it to the body of the car. All the resistor does is mimick the resitance of the solenoid which are around 25 to 40 ohms.

Once the solenoids are eliminated you will have very solid shifts. The 1 to 2 can be a bit hard but the 2 to 3 is quite Ok (not too hard). The info you need is around p800 of the big manual (about 2000 pages). THe ECU plug diagram is in there somewhere also. I just couldnt find it today.

Just do one solenoid at a time to get you there with minimal problems.

Here is a link to the 2003 ba workshop manual

http://pdftown.com/Ford-Falcon-BA-2003- ... Manual.htm

Look at page 936 in the manual it shows what will happen if the 3 and 4 solenoid are always off.

Well, bought the online CD and is of no help,I also purchased the Max Ellery book and this doesnt give any ecu pinout diagrams at all.

I thought id drop my pan and find the colours of the wires of solenoids so I could tap into the harness that plugs into trans....problem is the colour of the wires on the solenoids dont show up on the trans loom harness.

Im out of ideas.
