Update :)

This is the result of alot of time spent with filler, sanding, filler, then down to 2000 grit wet and dry for a super silk finish..

Test fit, making sure everything in centered, gauges fit etc

This shot might help show the angle, For me, sitting in the seat they are perfect, one of the reason's I decided to go down this path of having them mounted low is I honestly think even looking across at the gps distract you from driving, down low there is nothing else lit down their and it is much easier to see the needle out the corner of your eye.

I went back after this and did a few more minor adjustments to make sure it would look flush, on with the first 3 coats!!

4-3.jpg

I surprised myself with the gloss just from this alone, Still a few imperfections and orange peel in the paint that will be touched up in the coming days

3-3.jpg

Back in the car again for a test fit, in real life, it is actually glossier than the carbon/black factory plastics.

Gauges sitting in to give a rough look

Drivers angle

So that's where im at as of today, Depending on the weather tomorrow, another 3 coats will be put on, 4 more of clear, 2000 grit wet sand, and a polish. Fingers crossed it's a mirror finish gloss black!!

Cheers for all the positive comments!

In regards to making another one, Quite possibly :)

Think you have done a top job, as a owner my self of a MK2 I really want them above the ICC. Hope someone makes them soon for above the ICC, just looking down would do my head in and probably crash trusting my luck. I like where Luke( Ralph Wiggum ) has them, 1 on left and 1 on right behind steering wheel. Luke if reading this can you take a pic on how it looks from drivers seat.
