I think factory is 1.3 deg neg, they do it to improve handling. Good for Motor Magazine tests! Ford don't care about your tyres wearing out, nor reallly does a tyre place. A suspension shop however does, it's what they specialize in.

My original brackets could only get just over 0.5 neg adjustment before the thread on the bolts ran out. Probably made worse if your alignment is setup with about 1 deg castor offset.

With longer bolts in mine I can get over 2 deg adjustment with shims. Those superpro style ones probably I would think would get you 1.5deg, just looking at the length of the bolts. The Kmac one is really specifically designed for those who want to do circuit racing I would think, with a two stage setup as well as rachet, allowing massive adjustment.

I have heard though that these rachet style ones the mechanism can move around over time and alter the alignment. Not sure how true this is, only heard third hand.

Sorry guys, not online that much these days!

Yes, as mentioned above, the Ratchet style is prone to moving around a bit, especially on our crappy roads.

The Shim style kit is more "set and forget" although it is more labour intensive to adjust.

Okay guys just to update! Did all the suspension the other day and a few things to note!

I had 375mm hub to guard all around before lowering it. sssl fronts when down to 340mm (still waiting for it to sag) and the ssssl in the rear went to about 330-335mm (again needs to sag). Rear is perfect but the front still sits a fraction too high but hoping the sag will help me out! The lowest part on the car is the mudflaps which sit 50mm off the ground otherwise the exhaust is just legal at 110mm. The front bumper is 140mm off the ground so still fine for clearing speed humps and pedestrian crossings

Also DO NOT buy the superpro adjustable camber kit SPF3227K as the brackets it supplies are actually smaller than the stock brackets and thus will actually make the camber worse! This is because ford make different upper control arm brackets for the falcon xt and XR's because different suspension but the superpro kit only helps the xt! All you need is shims! I used 9mm on each side and it looks pretty good but yet to get a wheel alignment to see how far its out!

Also with the rear you definitely need a camber kit of some sort. I went with eccentric bushes and there is a problem! You can't take the upper control arm on the left unless you drop the diff cradle a bit (BIG job), because the bolt is blocked in! So unless you want to run negative camber do your diff bushes at the same time to save the doubling up of labour later on. I have mine booked in 2moro to get superpro bushes and to fit the left bush (I had already put the right one in before I came to the problem. Got the diff bushes for $230 and Ford quoted between $400-$500 in labour.

Also I cut the first ring off my superpro shortened bumpstops! Probably need the next one cut off to at some point but going to see if touches when the springs sag a little.

Apart from that really happy with the end result! $1150 (wasted a bit on the front camber kit) and a full days labour in 2 people and got the car sitting where I want!

Hopefully this helps when trying to make your decisions with lowering an FG

Ps sorry the photos are sh*t!

You really really need to take your mudflaps off. They will scrape like nothing otherwise. Looks good otherwise.
