Strange I would never give my car to someone without knowing full well what they had done...Edit: thought u said it was surging not missing?? rotorboyazza Member 21 Member For: 12y 4m 2d Posted 25/07/12 07:30 PM Author Share Posted 25/07/12 07:30 PM The trans has been rebuilt, about 4 weeks ago,at a semi retired mechanics house,he told me all the gears were worn and some shaft was buggered (have the box of old parts he replaced),water from old split radiator/cooler had gone in and buggered the solenoids so he replaced them too and the radiator/cooler was replaced in May ($1600 NZ$) from Ford over here, yes the motor surges in drive, starts at about 40kms rev counter goes from about 1000/1500rpm up to around 2500/3000rpm and drops back down and up agin etc etc, does it when it's cold/warm and also at norm temp, some days it does it and other days it's fine....Now our work ute will be coming home with me on Friday,so I can swap over the TPS and try that, it's a 2006 XR6 but it has a different front bumper than mine, would that make it a BF? Also if the TPS isn't the prblem would it be an ECU issue?

Go get another stock cat and install it if you really think it is this. Second hand they are around 200 bucks from the wreckers.

rotorboyazza Member 21 Member For: 12y 4m 2d Posted 07/08/12 04:38 AM Author Share Posted 07/08/12 04:38 AM It has a cat back bolt on exhaust, so tomorrow and $150 it will have the cat removed and a twin straight pipe welded on, hopefully that fixes the problem..... Boost spiking will be your next best friend... Then a new motor! Edited 07/08/12 04:56 AM by Kosij
