They're one I had my eye on - was them or the ATH's I was hoping the kid would choose.

I had to stop looking and browsing - was costing me too much. It's as slippery a slope as car modding

Which model Beyers do you have Steve?

I realised after walking away from the PC I forgot to actually say... DT 250 (80 ohm version). Cost about $220 landed from some New York ebay store, instead of $300 from local online stores.

The clarity was astounding, I'd never heard top quality earphones before and was hearing instruments in Metallica songs I'd never picked up on before despite having heard them a hundred times.

I now want that in my car but it would cost a bomb.

Oh nice, yeah they're great value reference cans. I want a couple pairs of those for my home recording studio.

Pretty sure I bought my MMX300's from the same eBay store.

The bike mags usually have adds in them for moulded ear plugs etc - they usually have options for audio.

I'd be pretty leery of getting a set like the ones above for on the bike - they cut out ambient noise too much. Not a good thing on the bike.

Ideally on the bike all you want the earplugs to do is muffle the wind/engine noise and still let you hear what's going on around you.

Not sure what plugs you use, but perhaps a slightly lesser insulating one and playing with the speaker position (foam padding behind them?) can do wonders.

That's pretty cool, ive seen the molded plugs but I didn't know you could get audio ones. At the moment I use the push in ear buds but the green ones, I find the red ones block out too much noise, like you said I only use them to block out the wind noise. I think a bit of googling is in order.

Dude - the guy kept the whole Roman Empire out of Gaul - all Garfield did was steal lasagne

And the Asterix game in the pinny parlour was even better!
