See I wear amplifiers on my ears for about 12-14 hours day..

Taking those f*ckers out and putting on some NC headphones is the nicest thing I can do..

Alternately.. I have been known to pop the battery case on my hearing aids and they double as ear plugs when onsite near machinery :P

My headphones, they're custom molded...no noise canceling but they seal up nicely and block out EVERYTHING. Can't even hear someone talking right next to me even if I have the volume right down.

Any more info on these, I want to get something like this for the bike. I've got a scala blue tooth headset on my helmet but I like to wear ear plugs to block out wind noise making it hard to hear the speakers inside the helmet Would be killing two birds with these puppies.

The bike mags usually have adds in them for moulded ear plugs etc - they usually have options for audio.

I'd be pretty leery of getting a set like the ones above for on the bike - they cut out ambient noise too much. Not a good thing on the bike.

Ideally on the bike all you want the earplugs to do is muffle the wind/engine noise and still let you hear what's going on around you.

Not sure what plugs you use, but perhaps a slightly lesser insulating one and playing with the speaker position (foam padding behind them?) can do wonders.

Yeah I have to agree with Rab, I never wore mine on the motorbike for that reason. Not to mention, if you were in an accident you wouldn't be able to hear someone trying to talk to you...which obviously isn't a great situation to put yourself in if you were knocked off and unable to move...

Depends how deep your pockets are as to what you get. They sound fantastic however and are great for planes and office environment etc. The brand is called Unique Melody. Mine are actually a reshell of my old Westone 3 ear buds with an upgrade to have 6 drivers per ear. Mine cost $650 including the ear molds...not including purchasing the Westone's.

One issue I've had though is I got an ear infection a couple months back and got another one soon after so I haven't used mine for a month but they hurt when trying to put them back in today, so seems my ears still aren't ready yet

This leads me to something cool I purchased today. Beyerdynamic t51p headphones.

I couldn't stand the thought of another swing without music, lucky a mate from work is flying up tomorrow and was happy enough to pick them up from Headphonic and bring them up to site for me

Yeah well I was actually going to get some Beyerdynamic DT770's but he mentioned the T51p's and said they're awesome and much more portable than the DT770's, so I did a bit of reading and they get fantastic reviews from everywhere so figured I'd give them a go. They've got a 20 day trial period anyway, so if I don't like them I can take them back for a store credit.

The one that made me happy - took my son to get a set for his birthday.

Stressed to him that he had to have a listen to a few and choose a set based on what sounds the best to him.

"Beats, Beats - they're the best, most awesome around" is what he was getting told by his mates.

He walked out of there having chosen ATH-M50's.

Was hoping he'd choose them or a set of Voda's, but was fearing he'd listen to the hype

Love my Beyerdynamics, closed cans for use at home for music/gaming late at night or when in company. Bought them on recommendation from a sound engineer mate who had a pair stolen from him at uni. Had me order him a pair at the same time I got mine hahaha. They are touted as reference headphones, this can make them unforgiving at times in music though. Sometimes a small colouration can make the music sound better, but it's subjective.

I do know that the hottie from CHVRCHES wore a pair of phones that look identical on Triple J :)

Which model Beyers do you have Steve?

Also, I have Beyerdynamic MMX300's for gaming duties at home.
