Nope. I just have any old phone case. The magnet thingy comes with a template of where to mount the magnets on your case (if you're using a case) or the option for mounting directly to your phone. I was not aware that the Samsung products had built in wireless charging. Just bought my Wife an S9 and it is good news to find out she has it.
