Yeah, fits into the cd player and you tighten a nut that expands out a couple of pieces that wedge it in there so it doesn't fall out. I paid $83 for it on sale.

Comes with a cable and adapter for your cigarette lighter. Also comes with a couple of little adhesive cable tidy things - which was a nice touch.

I use my phone for Android Auto in the car and just had it on a windscreen mount, but sucked that it would always drain my battery and was a pain to get in and out of the mount...plus it impeded my view of the road a bit. This one is great though, as it sits over the stock stereo, which I don't use as I have a double din dvd unit installed in the lower part of the console. So my phone connects to the HU by bluetooth and now sits at the right height in my dash. Win win for me really.

but it has to be plugged into the cigarette lighter.. .surely it would've been easier to design a thing that just mounts in the cigarette lighter instead of mounting arbitrarily in another location that has nothing to do with it's power source?

anyway, honda drivers... :idunno:

Cigarette lighters are normally in dumb spots, with respects to viewing angle of a screen...so thanks for your input, Keith...but you're wrong in this case :panda:

Like, how is mounting my phone mount in my centre console bin helpful? Or in the pocket under the lid that sits infront of my HU? Cumon Keith!

while you may be right, looking at your phone screen is basically a non-event when you're using Android Auto etc... but as long as you're happy with your car that happens to have a CD slot in a favourable position comparatively to a cig-lighter spot... *sigh*. #edgecases

do you think it is worth it? most of the mobile phone holders that I have bought in the past have melted in the Perth Heat.

The one phone holder that has stood the test of time since 2016 is the samsung generic holder that they have.

I got 3 of them at one stage for $36 and have not looked back.

I might contemplate that wireless charger one that you listed above, if you think it is worth it.

Well, I've only had it since Monday...but so far so good. Haven't really had the car sitting out in the sun on a scorcher of a day yet, but Scosche make decent quality stuff. Just buy a windscreen shade for when you park your car - keeps the car temps down considerably.

I've got a snap wireless magnetic mount, pretty damn happy with with it so far, doesn't even move around during spirited driving
