I got a tungsten ring, salesperson tells me it's tough as nails won't scratch or wear out blah blah blah

I was just thinking tungsten is very brittle, see how we go

I just liked the way it looked

I'm a geologist, we use tungsten tips on our scribes to scratch test the harness of minerals...can confirm it's hard as f*ck and won't get scratched...unless you run a diamond across it

^^ what he said. Tungsten also gets used a lot for core sampling of some pretty hard stuff. I'll let the geologist describe what stuff it actually is.

If they need tungsten to core it, we need to make it explode before we excavate it.

Yeah I know we use tungsten in tig welders as it has the highest melting point as well

And on a side note

I built the aircraft refueller on barrow Island

Nothing to do with anything just a cool memory
