I'll post more info as I find it on my other old post.....ill try to track down one of the owners & get picture & measurements etc....I would agree with that most ZF's in TT's seem to handle the 280-300awkw mark with the ZF no dramas... although I know of a 140,000km one that had some 3-4th up-shift issues (went away after trans-max z service & ZF tune)

I am not sure why they did that as they also changed the diff ratios to 3.7 (from TT's 4.10 I think) which to me would yield similar results out of both cars? I am still extremely happy with my F6X and doubt I will ever sell it now! Edited 09/05/13 03:09 PM by bjc

A friend of mine was working as a car salesman at a Ford dealership and the reason they up'd the kw was to try sell them as the GFC hit at about the same time and these cars just werent selling so every ford dealer was forced to take a FX6 and to sell them at whatever they could get for them (even if they already had 1 in stock). There is one in QLD atm build number 179 which has the 293kw mods done to it and his asking $35k for it with 45k on the clock. I asked him what he paid for it and he said he got it at a bargain only paid in the low $60s. They are still badged as 270s. The reason why Ford didnt up them to 310kw is because the ZF is unreliable after 300kw in a car with that much traction and of course the extra weight. that's not to say you cant put 400kw through one it just means look after it a little more. Hope this answered your question.
