fk me I earn less than 40k a year, I make fark all deductions to claim.

yet I still got stung for not putting in that I earnt like 10 bucks interest in my bank account. I said to the chick on the phone when I rang after reading the letter in the mail, I didnt even know I had interest there, she said your going to be fined!!! im like get fked, I didnt leave it out on purpose. isnt there a warning for first time, she said nope.

week later the $200 fine came

yer that year I used e tax cause I dont normally claim anything, so I just put in the income amount and send it off.

obviously forgetting 10 bucks in interest made them upset.

yeh look u may of just really upset someone because that's beyond the joke

as ive said b4 get a decent tax man , there fee is tax deductable I know u wont get it all back but look at it this way your 200 fine would of paid for 3 years worth of returns to be done

a classic saying is your innocent until proven guilty , except with the tax man your guilty until you prove urself innocent

the ATO does not give a flying f**k about anyone. They will get their money one way or another. I remember a friend of mine not having a receipt or proof of a deductible donation he made. It was only 5 bucks to the salvos that stop you at the traffic light. He lodged his tax, 2 weeks later his getting audited. Luckily for him, his fully legit and nothing came of it except the $200 fine of course.

up to $ 50 dollars can be donated each financial year without a recipt , I do this

Fukkin oath lol. My old boss at maccas, said he puts $2 into ronald mcdonald box each day he was at work (everyday lol). $730 and cos you put the money in the box, no receipt. Prove it...
