Hi guys,

Ive been going through all the posts trying to figure out what springs to order.

Ive bought bilsteins & kings and need to let the guy know which spings I want.

I told him I wanted;

Fronts KFFL-57SSL

Rear KFRL-68SSSL

The guy told me SSLs would be too low, and I only want SL's.

What sort of heights will I get out of these springs. I want it to look lowered.

I dont want to look like a half attempt to lower it.

Thanks in advance.

What you need to check is the height of the spring seat on your standard shocks. Then you can figure out what part number you need. If you measure from the bottom bolt on the front strut (where it bolts to the control arm) up to the spring seat you will get either 205mm or 250mm.

Generally the BF2 came with shorter springs than the BA/BF1 - a design change to reduce the front springs bowing under compression - but sometimes it goes the other way round.

If you have the 250mm measurement you have the BF2 struts and you need the KFFL-53SL part number, otherwise you will need to the KFFL-57SL

I would suggest using SL in the front as the lowest, the SSL will make the Bilsteins a waste of time since there will be very little travel left.

You sir are a champion.

The car is a 12 month '06, took the measurement, its 205mm. Stuck with the KFFL-57SL.

Ive bought all the front end bushes & shortened bump stops, Ill keep you in mind when I buy the rear end bushes.

Thanks again!

I used kings SL/SSL's on mine yesterday, this is what it looked like before:20120716_171327.jpg

And after:

I suppose the hill doesn't really help in showing the differences lol but it's slightly lower, definitely doesn't sit as high.

Yeah the front I don't mind on mine, I like the height but the rear could have been dropped a few more
