Guest FatBAt Guests Posted 02/01/06 10:29 AM Share Posted 02/01/06 10:29 AM Well I feel sorry for you guys then.As I said I have a good dealer who charges reasonable prices and the guys know their stuff. So I'm happy with my dealer warranty.Every cripple has his own way of dancin'<{POST_SNAPBACK}>You don't have to feel sorry for me Adam!! I'm bloody happy with the people that do my services.See as I told my Ford dealer, I don't like being charged $10.00 for "a test drive". Or $3.00 for wiper additive. Or $7.00 for a set of wiper blades that were fine anyway. It's all these addon / up sell items (fries if you like) that send the price through the roof. They also put 0W-40 in my T which I was p!ssed off with.Definately no Ford services for me, but hey.....of cause that is my opinion only.Cheers

I also doubt anyone else up here has the WDS to diagnose with so I still have to use ford anyway, and $1500 could easily disappear in labour and parts over 3 years. Looks like she stays stock a while longer.

len Member 42 Member For: 21y 11m 21d Posted 05/01/06 02:27 PM Share Posted 05/01/06 02:27 PM I have an extended warranty on mine, I just bought it a month ago... its a 3 year-160k warranty, designed to be a direct replica of the new car warranty apparently. I havent made a warranty claim for some time, but I reckon it'll pay itself off for $950.00.....<{POST_SNAPBACK}>Who did you get your $950 warranty extension from. I presume that it is not a genuine Ford warranty extension, as you say it's a direct replica?Irrespective, your warranty deal sounds pretty good compared to the quote I obtained from some of the Ford dealers in Brisbane ($1395 for 3 year / 160Km, genuine ford warranty extension). Did you check the cover compared to that of the genuine Ford warranty extension?Apparently, the $1395 for the 3 year / 160Mm Ford warranty extension is the recommended retail price only. I was told that the dealer markup can be up to 42%Does anybody know which dealer has the best deal??????????

My T is a 2003 model, stock and 60,000ks and is nearly out warranty. I will probably keep it for 2 more years. Thanks Nath

If you Mod, any warranty you have goes out the door from Ford's point of view.On the other hand, if you don't intend to mod, and you keep the car stock, it could be worth it. Consider Murphy's law though. If you don't get it, anything that blows up will come out of your wallet. If you have it, you'll probably never have any problems... It's worth it if you plan to keep the car, and can afford the asking price IMO.Edit: Mine cost ~$1300 for an extension out to 6yrs and 180,000kms. I've no plans to get rid of the phoon at all.
