Have been absolutely loving the XR6T ute and how it drives after upgrading my BA XR8, but then a few days ago started getting a bad whirring sound on cold start up which only lasted 1-2 seconds. Then it started to do it intermittently. So took in this morning and have been told power steering pump is shot ... already.

After having it all day was told it was excess wax they use for sound deadener on the pulley which was causing the pump to strain. But they also told me the noise from the rear was a bad wheel bearing which has leaned on the axle and they both need replacing but waiting to hear if ford will cover it under warranty. Not happy

While sorting out the power steering pump issue I told them to check on a noise in the rear when coming to a complete stop. Was told the wheel bearing is shot which has leaned on the axle and they want to replace both but are unsure if ford will cover it under their warranty. So am pretty dissapointed and will be more so if the repairs aren't approved. And ute will probably sit their for a week now as they recomend I dont drive it in the meantime.

Has anyone else had this issue ?

Are you saying it only has 541kms?

Can't you give it back to them as a lemon? New fair trade act
