Buy one of there Varex mufflers, that way you can have it shut most of the time when cruising (especially on the highway) and open it up when you want to grab attention or hose a few commodes...

Anyone heard these varex systems in action?

Thinking about adding 1 to mine to shut it up a bit.

Tbh I'd mostly want it quiet on idle.

Neighbors are getting the sh*ts with my 4.30am starts

Mates got one on his cammed vy ss twin 3" and it makes a world of difference, angry and loud to barely louder than stock. Haven't heard one on a falcon though.

Well that at least sounds like positive feedback.. Might have to do some more research

Yea I have watched all the YouTube vids and they don't do it justice, it really does quieten it down. The only thing I would be worried about on a falcon is having it on quiet mode and forgetting and giving it a boot. An ss back pressure isn't much of an issue, but if I have learnt anything from this forum back pressure on a falcon is very important haha

That's a good point Bonjaz, I wonder what the implications are on a tune with a system like this. Obviously would have the tune done for varex open, but if you boot it with it closed and the restricted path what might it do?

the tune is going to be affected if the muffler is left in a position not tuned for.

The best option is to get a system that opens/closes automatically and consistently and tune around that, Bel 4" system has a boost referenced Flapper in the exhaust, actually made a lot more difference than what I was expecting noise wise

Sounds like a good set up. Would the boost referenced flapper affect times at the strip ? Im guessing the flap would open when building boost while on the brake. Is there still a noticeable exhaust note under normal driving conditions and while cruising on the freeway?

Im not a big fan of noise its the main reason I still run the standard cat back exhaust. It doesn't seem to be holding my car back too much with the standard fg turbo. But once I upgrade my turbo it will become an issue.
