Which loc did you go with?

That 660 looks like abit of a nightmare to setup dunno if I cbf.

Im only going to need something for the front and rears using a 4 channel amp.. I don't need to bother with the sub as its already done.

Any ideas for something cheap and effective?

Mine is nothing fancy, just something I went and bought so I wasn't pulling the car apart twice. Got it from JB iirc. If I was to do it all over again I'd go with the Alpine unit, the 660..can't beat it imo.

For an amp again I'd go with Alpine, it's a great brand but it may be too pricey (may be bias :P I love their stuff lol). As others have mentioned in other threads, Jaycar do some pretty good stuff at very reasonable prices so they should have something for you! :spoton:

I just bought a eBay 4 channel loc for 16 bux just to get it going for now. I'll most likely mount the 660 later on the back of lhs back seat with the 2 amps in the same predicament.

My LOC I hooked up to the wires infront of the aircon filter (behind the glove box..take it out and easy access to all the wires) and then I've sat the LOC behind the very front of the passenger kick panel. Fits just nicely, my one anyway, a different sized one may or may not still fit! But all the speaker wires are there

RCA's..I have ran 2 sets down to the rear for if I ever run an amp for the speakers and if I ever did, I'd need to run more of course for the front, but alot shorter due to LOC being up the front of the car. 1 set per speaker :spoton:

Did you run new speaker wires to the fronts or just chop in?

Haven't upgraded any speakers. Just ran RCA's down to the rear so I don't have to pull everything apart if I ever changed them. If I was to change the fronts yes of course I'd change the wires. 12g wire I think is what gets used mostly

I just ran 2 13gauge wires thru.... Easily big enough.

I CBF digging around and finding the speaker wire loom so Ive just hooked it straight up to the speaker cable at the speaker pos. In the door which goes to the converter then back from the amp to the door again to the new speaker.

Bit of a brainless way of doing it but at least I know it'll work when it's all done. Not much fun feeding it thru the rubber grommet in the door but it's doable, even in bad light. ;)

Can't wait to have it all done :)

Yeh one thing that puts me off changing front speakers lol, running the wires. The difference would be awesome but a pita of a job.

I ran a second feed through above the original loom, and wrapped it in flexible conduit.

just speaker wire- its a nightmare to muck around with the factory loom feed..

what LOC did you end up with for this install?

I was checking them out too- cheapest that I found for pxe is around 260 delivered...

there is an aussie seller on ebay has em brand new for 299 I think. for the white one, 319 for the black...

audiocontrol LC6i can be had for as little as 160 delivered...
