Hey ppl,

Currently have a BFMKII and has the premo sound package. But also wanting to upgrade (without spending sh*tloads). So wondering what size the current speakers are both in front and back and also after recommendations of what to use for fronts and backs ? Pretty sure there's a common name that goes around when replacing the sub in the parcel shelf but feel free to post up any recommendations :).

Cheers in advance

No worries man, just want something much better than standard without spending sh*t loads, I'll have a look what alpine offer and go from there I think . May do the sub later.

The sub is actually the biggest let down.

What sort of music do you listen to?

You'll never really get good clarity with just a speaker swap IMO. We can only adjust treble and bass.

So far I have just fitted a 12" pioneer box , sun and amp. You'd be suprised the dif. Just some good bass can make.

did yours have Premo sound Brendan? Mine doesn't so I'll have to mount an amp and use the rear speakers for input. :/

I swapped the fronts for Kicker splits ($180 from ryda.com.au) and mounted the tweeters in the doors, which actually made a massive difference over the factory cardboard speakers.

I'll swap the rears to Kicker non splits ($80) and add the sub which will be fine I think, I don't crank music these days anyway.

I have 2 alpine subs, std speakers, everything is running off amps and it sounds great, surprised how decent the speakers have been and that they are still alive.. Get a good sub and amp/s and you'll be happy.. I have Premo sound too..

Also try Jaycar if you don't want to spend too much. I swapped my uncles factory sub for an 8" jaycar driver. Still no match for a proper boxed sub though.

Decent amps also make a big difference as Mika said.

Got any details onthe Jaycar 8"? My factory sub is cactus. Desire to install box and loose associated boot space is low.

That's the one I used. It seems to handle a lot more power than the factory item but would also sound better with a bit more power behind it.

It's not a free air sub, just an 8" driver but for $40 it does the job. It fits in the factory position but from what I can remember you might have to drill some now holes to get it to fit up properly.
