The torque converter ate itself then barfed metal chunks so it is throwaway for me. It chucked a good bit of metal into the trans as well but most of it is in the pan and filter. Apart from that the box is in average condition except for at least one bush that is pretty farked. The clutches and steels are in average/good nick still. I put it back together when I was done and I'll do more with it down the track. All in all a pretty good score for $50, a tank of fuel and 8 hours of driving! Here's some pictures cos why not?!

I know that you can use the input shaft and the pump but it's been a while since I read up on it so I cant remember what else you can use or what other stuff needs to be changed. It'll be a while before I do anything with it cos I'll need to get a different converter and I have other priorities this year. At any rate I might just put those exedy clutches I bought into my zf6hp26 when I take the motor out.

Went for a drive, no boost at all. Forgot the clamp on the throttle body. Tightened that and went for another drive. Plenty of boost, but also plenty of hektic dose bro. Turns out I had fitted the BOV the wrong way round.
