runs through firewall and along over top of the brake booster.

fuse nice and close to the battery, just need some more black duct stuff to cover the cable with. I cut the other end of those screws where the fuse is attached to the battery box so it'll definitely clear the battery. gotta upgrade the negative - was gona buy a whole new terminal and run a 4guage cable to the body.

mmm I'd like to relocate the battery but today all I am installing is a 4channel amp.

I need to find where to tap into the speaker outputs from the ICC as the amp gets signal from the speaker outputs so I can retain stock headunit for now. I have the ICC out and got tired yesterday so packed everything up.  seems its easier to tap into it on both sides of the icc? like behind glovebox for passenger side etc.

call me dodgy but cat5 makes for AWESOME speaker wire.

so I ran one wire from the linelevel input on the amp (or whatever its called) - using a part from a computer power supply (can just see the red plug).

this one connects to the ICC's speaker output, the other one goes from the amps speaker output to the factory loom that connects to the speakers.

all joins are soldered. the thing is awesome, was cranking hotel california. turns out the rear speakers that I thought were 'quiet' simply needed to be amped, the front speakers needed an amp too.

no stereo whine at all, weird on this one. even when turned up full on aux input there is no whine. my old BA had the stereo whine but had the amplified AUX input.

oh and OMG ITS SO MUCH LOUDER THAN IT WAS BEFORE WOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW

anyway time to show my dodgy photos:

(this is where I had to splice in to get the speakers. the third cable runs to the drivers side as I had to pick that up over there lol.)

the amp has RCA in but also has a high level input to connect directly to the speaker wire that comes out of the ICC. note the red plug says VGA on it as its from a computer power supply.

the best bit is I got it all wired up with no polarity issues and no wires connected to the wrong speaker the first go!

the amp is huge! I plan on moving it under the seat later cause there is a mount I have to modify slightly and it will fit.

yeah and I did such a pro job that I broke the plastic that the glove box connects to....then when supergluing it I covered my hands in superglue.

using cat5 made it way easier to do as well. only issue is when stripping the wire you gotta be careful else it'll just snap.

The cat5 is most certainly dodgy, but the fact it's twisted pair probably helps with negating some of the interference...

yeah I noticed that ford twist the speaker wire in the loom, made digging the wires out much easier.

check its the right wire once, chop once - my motto :P

Cat5 is between 22 and 24 AWG, normally... lol not many amps (between 0.577 and 0.922 per strand, I think.)
