Just to tidy the bay up more and now I don't have to replace the plastic one every year when it turns yellow.

The neck will be half the size for bonnet clearance obviously.

It won't. It will need another smaller overflow tank/bottle but a smaller one can be used, also it won't have to be at the highest point like the header tank.

How does a spout half the hieght of the one pictured replace the volume of the expansion tank?

It doesn't replace the volume nor does it need to in my application.

My turbo isn't coolant fed and I have a much larger radiator going in so volume will still be the same anyway.

I am yet to consult ANDRA for overflow ruling so that area isn't addressed yet.

Id like to run the line from neck back into the top of radiator.

Ok so its not possible to have the system working effectively with it returning back to the system instead of a catch can?

As ralph has mentioned I need a catch can for the track but the car is a daily so if I can get away with it not hooked up on street duties Id prefer this method.

Thankyou for suggestions guys its all benefiting me.
