Fixed the car in the Bunnings trade parking area where it failed to start. Could tell why when I moved the shifter, far too easy. Car is still thinking it's in Drive despite me moving the shifter to N or P.

With fingers crossed he'd pick up I called Sir Ralph Wiggum Esquire My Lord And Saviour who came to the rescue with solid advice, checked the shifter area and it seemed everything was connected, could see a rod that goes forward to engine area, moving fine. He then suggested the gearbox end. Get the car on a stand, slide under (always a good look needing to jack up car in Bunnings), get the missus to move shifter as suggested by Ralphie...

What do you know

Fixed it good enough to get home at least...oh dear

but now need to buy a new shifter cable thing.

In short Luke's a f*cking legend in his spare time. I thought the box was told the gears through electronic wiring alone, but turns out it's just the +/-

How did you get to the screen??

Isn't everything in the way?

Just jacked the car up and drained the oil ,left the oil filter off ,removed the air filter box and had enough room.

I just got the missus to hold the spanner because she was there and it's her car so bugger it she can climb under it.

Could have done it with out her but it was a little tight trying to get 2 hands in there.

You got no idea, probably owe him more like a pallet of beer!

Problem is he's OK with his home networking and computer stuff as well so I haven't been able to return the favour in skill. Just getting a good line of credit going he can draw on at any time hahaha.
