Sure are! I only realised myself after noticing the different lengths of the nuts too.

Well actually 28.5mm, here's from my post in my built thread

Nah I luckily already bought a full set of 20 plain black nuts for the car, they are about the size of the lock nuts. Got them for like $20 off a bloke that bought them for his FPV and then sold the car, hahaha.

Pics of black nuts:

I need nuts like this. at one stage Talib tyres were selling these on AFF or someone on this forum was selling them.

I put my hands up and never heard back.

I wouldn't mind getting a set like that.

you mean the "Tuner style wheel nuts"?

Taleb tyres were trying to sell them, but were always out of stock... I asked 3 times over 3 weeks and they were always out of stock... annoying as hell... so I went to ebay and got these ->

They are the same product and a cheaper price than Taleb were offering them for.

This is what you want. Steves nuts are to small. His wheel components aren't large either.

Beat you to it, aaronm.

My link for "spline drive" ones (the ones Taleb were attempting to peddle), aaronm's link for standard hex drive ones.

EDIT: Also, aaronm's link they are 19mm head size, the "tool" that comes with the spline drive has an OD of 21mm (the same as the standard OEM wheel nuts).

Thanks for that K31th. But the shipping cost more than the set. WTF.

The other thing I have been looking for is a wheel spanner to replace the crappy ford one.

Anything special that I need to look out for?

19mm fit inside the wheel recess better on both stock wheels and aftermarket. Less chance of wheel damage.

The splined ones are good until you lose the tool.

The nuts are small on both of these. The tool itself is hardly wider than the nut itself, it just has a bit that juts out a bit further so that a 21mm standard socket fits on it snugly.

No worries, Masda74. That's the problem with buying them from the USA, I suppose. Mine were cheaper than what they are currently at my link... the price seems to have gone up :oooh: Aussie dollar at the time was clearly a little better, too. lol. (actual prices are the USD ones mentioned here).
