Knocking on the outside skin now the door sounds beefy compared to that thin sound on the back doors.I think it should seal it up and work quite well

Got a screwdriver and hammered it through and was able to lever it around but needed to punch about 6 holes in to keep it turning. Even after I had loosened it, it still wouldn't turn for ages unless levered. Then went to install the Ryco Z9 filter (as I read in here and elsewhere that it fits...) and it wouldn't screw in. Spent about 15 minutes thinking it was just beause I wasn't getting it in the thread correctly, but then compared the old one and the Z9 and they had different thread sizes. At this stage it's pretty dark and I've got bugger all light. So after realising I had the wrong filter, and have completely destroyed the last one, and all the shops were closed, I had to treck it back to mums house where the Z514 (or Z519 can't remember the one) was which I bought 2 days before my last T was stolen in prep for an oil change. Lucky I had that really..Got back, pitch black and trying to work off a mobile phone light I got the filter on and time to fill up the oil.As I couldn't really see (the house has no lights where the only bit of flat land was that I could jack the car up) I was trying to use one hand to shine the light on the engine, and the other hand to poor the oil in. If you haven't guessed, that's a bad idea and I ended up spilling probably about 2-300ml of Penrite HPR 10w-50 all over the engine bay.Finished topping up, turned car on to let it cycle for a bit then went to check for leaks. Now because I had spilt the oil, it was almost impossible to tell if it was or wasn't leaking because there was oil all under the engine around the sump. Washed the bottom with water (all I had available from the tap) and it seems fine but there's still the case of oil spilt down the side of the block. What can I use to get rid of this? That was my night. And now I'm paying for it because my wrist is farked along with my shoulder from trying to undo the filter. Don't worry about trying to get it off. But if you really want to degreaser works. lol
