and pretends its his, lol

This. Just spoke about the red phoon in another thread like it's his.

Yep I sneezed ours of after a run against a highly modified MPS I thought the rods were out, but it turned out hi-torque had snapped them all during some work and I must have tagged the limiter and she backfired the crossover off the TB.

Never replaced them even though they apologized and offered too , because I went with the Plazmaman kit :)

Haha nice.

Download tapatalk 2 app. Click the camera icon button, choose pic from your gallery and when you select your photo it'll ask 'Tapatalk Hosted' or 'This Forum'. Choose this forum! :spoton: tapatalk hosted made it do weird sh*t last time I tried that way..

Cleaned throttle body, lubed boost solenoid and then something new for me - did the idler pulley and tensioner pulley change today. Car isn't showing battery light and still steers well so I must have got the belt on properly hahaha. The hardest part was not having the correct size breaker bar. Was barely able to use a short ratchet handle of the right size to loosen old one off, but new belt was laughing at me when I tried the same to put it on. Eventually manoeuvred a much longer 1/2 inch with adapter (3/8" is it?) in there, thing was hard to get back out!

Steve,

Like Dave said, take out the fans. Two bolts on the top, then unclip the wiring harness. It pulls upwards out of 2 brackets and it makes the job so much easier.

I just used a standard 3/8 ratchet with an extension bar to loosen the tensioner. As room is limited and it can be quite hard to loosen, I just used a section of metal piping to extend the length of the ratchet arm. Made the job heaps easier.

In terms of fitting the belt, I ran the belt around all the pulleys, beginning at the crankshaft and working anti-clockwise. Easiest way to fit the belt is to thread all the pulleys then fit it over the water pump last.

By the way, she's looking good mate :spoton:

EDIT: Sorry Steve, I think I misread your post. Were you saying you had difficulty replacing the belt or difficulty with the larger adaptor? Ah well, it may help someone else wanting to change it :)

Yeah Dan taking the fans out would have been far more convenient! Got it done in the end with only a slightly scraped hand hahaha. I think I slipped the belt over the power steering last (top left viewing from front) as my hand was in the way of everything else. Glad I got them replaced but might have to go back in for the water pump pulley once it gets noisy. At least I can take out the fans next time.

PS cheers, now if only I would wash the whole bay.
