After all the catch can euphoria I got myself one. Calibre Supercheap item. Took out bottom bolt and used a screwdriver to push the top off (after taking all allenkey bolts out). Then proceeded to grind away internal inlet region so that I could get some piping around the inlet bolt. So as to make for a better unit air/oil separator, took about an hour. 2 stainless scourers fitted. I got a polished item (all they had). After a run I was surprised how hot it actually got. So thermodynamically speaking a black one would have been better. Im now think that I will run my rocker breather (front) into it via a barbed Y connector and vent all to atmo. As I was very surprised by the heat generated. Having that hot vapour feeding straight into the inlet manifold is not good for power. So I do think that this is a very worthwhile mod, with multiple benefits.

Cheers

Got any pics mate?

Does much oil go into the can?

No sorry no pics. Only new so to early to say. But I will say this; due to the high temps I have little doubt that most of the oil content would probably still end up in the intake. Ideally a heat exchanger would benefit the system (located before catch can entry point, for best results). In the meantime I going to put a $3 fuel filter in the line (before catch can) and see if that helps by 1. slowing the flow, 2. providing greater surface area for cooling. But I honestly believe that if vented to atmo you would see BIG benefits.

Cheers

Ok so for the slow folk like me ;) its just the 2 hoses from the rocker cover going into a catch can and one hose from the catch can going somewhere out of sight with a filter? No 1 way valves or anything needed now coz its not connected to the inlet manifold anymore, right?

Your all over it !!!! You will need a 10mm Y barbed fitting ($4.60 ebay). Join both PCV and rocker breather (using Y connector) to the catchcan inlet. Then run the piping from outlet down to a hidden location. But make sure you use a small breather filter on the end to be certain that it does'nt becomed blocked by little creatures, mud, dirt etc.
