Be very careful to not yank on the cam sensors when removing them from the rocker cover that's one hot tip lol

I got the atomic valve spring tool at home but bruce used his cray cray set up ........ Old people lol

Have alot of clean bench space avaliable before u start so u can lay it all out

Well I reversed the wires on the factory sub. Sounded easy, but I can tell you that getting those effing wires from the clips is not a job for someone like me with a short fuse for insignificant $hi!. Ended up cutting wires and splicing them together (will do it properly another day, when I've talked it through with a councillor...lol). It works though.

Was a big day, Changed the stock turbine housing on my ute to a ported one. Ended up taking the whole manifold off to do the job. Made tightening up the turbo/manifold bolts easier.

Ran out of time to do the surge tank but that will get done next weekend or the week after.

I (with the help of stazza_brendan and Trav199) pulled the cat section out of my 2010 fg turbo and pulled the restrictor ring out. SOOOOOO much better. Spools quicker and seems like it breathes alot better.

wont you need a tune now?

what month/year did they start putting the rings in? or is it all FGs?

cheers, andy

A few people have done this and not had any trouble. They started in Euro 4 cars. Which was in 2010. Not sure on the exact date. Easiest way to tell is have a look under the car and see where the cat is. If its under drivers footwell then it doesnt have the ring. If the cat is up close to the back of the turbo you will have the ring.

Dropped the fluid out of the T56 and filled it with fresh transmax z, adjusted the alignment and tightened the manifold and turbo bolts.

Clutch is bedding in nicely too, I've done around 650-700k's on it now and it feels a lot nicer than before. Still a little heavy but better than the original exoskel setup
