Slowxr6t Member 587 Member For: 6y 6m 16d Location: New zealand Posted 13/04/25 08:56 PM Share Posted 13/04/25 08:56 PM I have a gfb dvx diverter/bov in place of the oem borgwarner bov that's part of the compressor housing and it has been working fine, well it wasnt opening under boost and causing a big boost leak. I was suspect that it could have been leaking and I had pressure tested turbo pipework and checked all plenum hoses and fittings and found nothing. I took dvx apart and put in a extra spring to make it really stiff and hard to open. It fixed it yaaa, I havnt had much luck with bovs on this barra, my Greddy type r 50mm leaked and when I put a stiff spring in it wouldnt open and this dvx has started to leak after a short amount of time too. Slowxr6t Member 587 Member For: 6y 6m 16d Location: New zealand Posted 14/04/25 03:46 AM Share Posted 14/04/25 03:46 AM Yea im slowly working that one out, they seem to be more of a problem than anything else. Do you guys know that the stock xr6t bov piston actually runs sideways so to speak so the piston cant actually be pushed open by boost pressure, it could potentially just leak past the o-ring that seals it when its shut. Not sure if other oem bovs work like that but it seems like a pretty good idea to me. Aftermarket should make them like that. I might chuck the stock one back on and see how it goes. Slowxr6t Member 587 Member For: 6y 6m 16d Location: New zealand Posted 03/05/25 05:17 AM Share Posted 03/05/25 05:17 AM What brand is it? 6 piston? 355mm rotors? Are they awesome, hows cold stopping? I got 6 piston brembos with brembo pads and 355mm dba slotted rotors, they shuddered and had to get them machined which was not cool. But they are awesome now, huge braking power. They are Vari, I was looking at Brembo but these were cheaper. Rsisted the urge to go big and instead keep the weight down. 6pot 355 front and 4 pot 328 rear. Easy to fit, easy to bleed. Haven't really worn them in yet, but they feel alright at the moment - plus they don't squeal and shudder like the old OEM ones did. Something that feels a bit cheeky - the rotors have VARI 37 engraved into them to the same depth as the grooves, and it's inline with the pads. EV tax deals, 390kw and 0-100 in 3.8 was too hard to ignore.Need to hang out here with you guys more. Someone on the Seal FB group asked how people on novated leases are finding their cars so far. Exactly the friggin same as anyone else I would have thought. Posted what I thought was a hilarious reply about pre-tax kw but no one seemed to get it. 2 Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/80918-what-did-you-do-to-your-car-today/page/1055/#findComment-1726285 Share on other sites
