Yep I'll do the front diff bushes next, just gonna wait for it to cool down a bit, it was bad enough doing the windows lol

I did the timing cover today. Time (haha) will tell if it worked.

I grabbed a new half moon seal just in case and when I got all the bits and pieces off the front it really did look like that seal could be the culprit, although I guess an oil leak could accumulate at that spot. Interesting that the new seal was a bit taller than the old one and was marked 05/06 on. Maybe it got the wrong seal when the sumo was done.

Hopefully this time tomorrow when I start it it doesn't turn out I farked up something. d3bb803915bb8e0b5cfa1358bb5bab2a.jpg08c67191b00b6756c67f40732449536c.jpg

The crank mark should be at about 4oclock and the cams should be pointing up.

Are those pics from after you wound it over by hand a couple of times?

Sorry I might have implied by the pics I did more work than I actually di!

The pics are after I turned the car off and removed the front cover, and before I refitted the cover with new sealant. Didn't touch anything internal.

Installed Nolathane front diff bushes in the territory today. Also fitted front sway bar bushes and links. No more clunks!

gotta love when a "fix" turns into an "upgrade" and it also fixes the problem :) :spoton:

I literally couldn't floor it and get off the throttle quickly before cos the diff would smash into the bush hole and sound like the arse of the car was gonna fall out. Still gotta fit the rear diff bushes, rear sway bar bushes, rear sway bar links and new blade arms. None of that is causing an issue so I'll get onto it when we have another day under 30C.

I'm going to start on my diff bushes tonight. Seems like pulling the cradle out is something we all have to face at some stage!
