Good news is it isn't the work I just did. Bad news is it looks like the rear main.Rear main was replaced about 10 months ago by a mechanic (same one that replaced the front half moon that was leaking and tried to suggest a new motor was probably the best bet). I guess if the front seal was junk the rear one might be too so could also be that.

Just another place to check if you start looking.

Were those flappy paddles the ones that came with backlit wheel buttons? I've almost been tempted to buy that kit just for the buttons and chuck the paddle half in the bin. Or wire them into the high beams or radio or indicators. Edited 25/01/24 06:08 AM by TurboBurbo

Started pissing out fuel so replaced a clamp and all was good in the world. Drove it around the yard, did a single pegger or two on the grass, ripped a fat rev and shut it down. Looking forward to driving it again, can't beat the sound of a cammed 304

Smoothen out 14yrs of shopping trolley dings and the creased bonnet.Got the headliner re-done in black at the same time, but the bloke knocked off early for the long weekend, so I'll be doing the next 1000km without half my interior. Some sort of paint correction next, probably ceramic coat and see what can be done about stone chips.Retiring the Turbo from work duties soon so I wanna get everything tidied up while it's still tax-claimable.

So first drive today and it would only change about once for every 10 button presses. If I pull the airbag/horn pad off it works fine. So tried rerouting the wiring and repositioning the sensor inside the steering wheel. Shifts between 1 and 2 no worries while stationary in the driveway so hopefully sorted. Didn't drive it though because the other car was behind it and I needed to do front pads and rotors. 4 hours ago, Puffwagon said: They can leak between the rear main cap and the block. Wouldn't surprise me if that was leaking given the front one was and they obviously did them at the same time when they sealed the sump.

It's literally the main cap that holds the crank in place.
Slowxr6t Member 563 Member For: 6y 30d Location: New zealand Posted 28/01/24 07:26 AM Share Posted 28/01/24 07:26 AM @Puffwagon so I drove 20 minutes to a mates to take him for a ride, I gave it a couple of 16psi full boost pulls on the way, all was good. I picked him up and went for a cruise, first pull it woul only boost 5psi in 3rd and 7psi in 4th. No check engine lights or anything showing. I pulled over and turned it off for 2 minutes and restarted and all was good back to 16psi again. What could the problem be???

You can get a tactrix cable and download a free version of Forscan to see what it is. If it's a mechanical issue I would check the overboost valve, it might be malfunctioning. You can just remove it entirely and see if the problem comes back.
