Now I've got a video of a failed lower to go with my video of a failed upper from a couple years ago...can see evidence of my vain attempt to grease the bushes on the weekend on the lower shock mount. Sound when driving is very much like the start of this video. I was hoping it was a dry bush but in my heart I knew it was unlikely. Bit annoyed the workshop didn't pick this up when it was in recently, I even suggested the mad creaking could be a ball joint on the way out. It was made harder to diagnose because any time the car is lifted on a hoist and the suspension drops away it is quiet for an hour or so, enough to pass a test drive. Still, wobbling the ball joint makes it pretty obvious! Now trying to arrange a quick replacement before the WA cruise this weekend :/

How many ks do you think you got out of em and is it a genuine ball joint? most bushes in my car are about 30-50k old according to receipts, pretty sure pedders brand ball joints. I get them to replace the left and right pair when they go, but they needed to use oversize ones last time since they've been pressed in/out so much...so I might look into ordering some new upper and lower arms in the near future. I'm thinking 300,000km is end of life with my driving style. Love this explanation I found when looking for vids of the sound (link should play from 1:56)

Shop was amazed how bad it was when they put it on the shaker machine. Was no movement last time or they'd never let the car out of the shop, and I believe them. I've added a couple thousand kms to it since then I think. Anyway on to the next issue Love days off work, so relaxing Oh wait that's right, the wiper fluid stopped coming out. Better pull things apart before you've even had breakfast! Thanks to Wiggum for the location tip, saves me time on the regular that guy. So voltage spikes up when I run it but pump is silent even with hose off and looks pretty dead there, I'm assuming some sort of failed internal seal allowed water into the electrics judging from the crap at the top of the pump. Can't blow through the nozzle either so maybe that's blocked too. Oh I just realised I have a big plastic syringe that I use for brake fluid suck out, might try that on them now...
