Continued trying to determine the cause of some very odd tyre wear on aprox 1/3 of the inside shoulder of my LHF invo. Next step is to demount the tyre and check it for an internal defect and the rim for run out/bendage

Hmmm

That was a mates front left on a 5.4 fg

Some sort of delamination occured- he is super carefull about the pressures , nitrogen , wheel alignment etc.

Nitto took it away for investigation, not the first time its happened apparently.

Any response? I am pedantic about alignments and pressures. What strikes me as odd is there is now vibration indicating a bent wheel and the fact it's only occurred on aprox 1/3 of the tyre.

You wouldn't by chance be able to find contact details for the people at Nitto your mate dealt with? Im not having any luck getting a reply from Taleb Tyres

I will ask, its down here in NZ, not sure if it will help.

It seems like the delamination/failure of the steel/nylon bands running running around the cicumference on the outter edge allows the tires tread (under tension) to 'shrink' back towards the center .

I see this alot with low profile tyres.

Imagine you have a glass on a flat table, now tilt that glass 1 degree to represent the amount of camber a falcon has, that's what your tyre is doing, all the weight on that inner edge is just separating the lining. What are your camber/toe specs if you don't mind me asking?
