Has Spiro said anything about how the tailshaft and gearbox are going to hold up with the new power?

We've talked about it. I was always going to upgrade my tailshaft fairly soon after doing the work. I'm just waiting for Con at Diff Technics. He's getting some new tailshaft and CV combo coming in soon and I'm just waiting on that. Gearbox wise, we serviced the 'box but he did mention that it'll eventually need to be strengthened and I'm currently looking at my options. Actually, with the gearbox freshly serviced + ZF tune, the gearbox feels good although I don't expect that to last.

The ZF at 400 won't last either. Mine didn't... everyone drives their car differently though. I will honestly say that I love the midrange rush that the GTX has. Pick P at 60kph and you'll be upon 140 on the street before you even have a chance to brake. I don't go after my car early. No point, it has no traction. I have very nice tyres on my car, even better when I ran 275 wide semi's everyday. That killed my ZF, no doubt. Roll on skids are fun... scaring the tish out of yourself and not turning the tyres on a roll on... it's better again. Farkin scary actually :)

A good mate of mine described my car as a 200m car. He has a 400rwkw heads/cam/blown VE SS on 5psi... it's a very tough car. He describes his car the same way. You need to be aware of what is 200m ahead if going after it.

Steve your car, and any car for that matter has massive bollocks at 400 :) there is so very little on 4 wheels that will get within cooee of your car on the street, very few on 2 wheels too!

Have you done diff bushes yet? I know you've done the TrueTrac. Quality! Stays so straight.

I'd leave the CV's until you need them mate. CV's tend to break (I've done 3 of them at 346rwkw in my 'old Nizpro Stage 2 BA', stock diff bushes never replaced to 70k) when the diff isn't supported effectively enough.

I hear you loud and clear on the power. Half throttle in 2nd and my NT05s are struggling for traction. Like I mentioned, I don't expect the box to last. If it makes it to the end of the year, I'll be happy. Then again, it won't have to be my daily anymore so hopefully it'll help it out. It's got superpro comfort diff bushes in it.

Didn't even mention the tailshaft there either mate.

Do the tailshaft. Needs to be done. Put grippy tyres on the car, you will break the car on the street with a decent stall on a stock tailshaft.

Stock is a 2 piece, a short piece and a longer piece. If you want to do it cheaply, do only the rear section. I've had both upgraded.

It's a $1000 tailshaft with both sections done. It will do minimum $2000 damage if it breaks. Could also cut your floor pan to pieces... let alone destroying part of your exhaust.

I stil have my old NT05's on my BBS wheels in my spare bedroom (garage) in my apartment... I would love to still have them on the car. Couldn't get a 'run' on the street with anything, ever with Semi's on the back... put the stock wheels back on and everyone wants to have a crack haha.

As yours would be... it's a handful on the street in stock tyre width regardless of how expensive the tyres are.
