Hey guys,

Just after a quick answer to approximate labour costs in fitting shocks and coils?

Can source some from Wholesale at a good price (Boge), but then the local workshop has suggested a different product and an installed price (Munroe GT Sports), so just want to get a rough estimate at what the labour of installing the parts would be.

Cheers

Wholesale's package would be much better for me then, work out cheaper to have shipped across and installed (if that's the price to install).

Perth goers, any recommendations for having this work done? Have contacted Wilkinsons and they're the ones who have suggested the Munroe's, installed with coils for $1100. I can get the Boge and coils for much cheaper than $1100 minus labour if its $200 so need a decent place to have them installed and aligned and what not.

Will also hopefully be getting my tyres sometime soon, so will need somewhere to put those on too (I assume the suspension place will be fine, should only cost what, $25 or so a corner to have fitted to rim and installed?)

Edit: Got reply, $440 labour so looking for somewhere else lol

Depends how many hours they require the car. To me it sounds like a decent job to take old sh*t out and replace with all the coilovers and then set it up. But keep ringing around and see what others say, I could be wrong :spoton:

Yeah might try a few places today. Just ordered my tyres so I'm down a grand or so :(

Waiting to lodge my tax return but need my ex-partners details which she hasn't got from Centrelink yet.

Just as a guide, I pulled out my standard suspension and replaced it with monroe shocks and king springs in my driveway in under 4 hours I think it was. It's a fairly simple job and I'm guessing for a workshop that has done it before and are using a hoist it would only be around a 2 hour job.

Your just doing dampers and springs yeah ???

Most shops will go for four hours labour. And stich you another $90 for an alighment as well.

It will need one even though you are just doing the bouncy bits.

TBH four hours including a decent alighnment isn't too bad. Bout half an hour too much :) Get a free alighnment throw in a thousand K's after fitting. Usually takes at least that for it all to settle nicely if only driven on the road

I think I'll just go with the $1104 quote, full Munroe GT sports front and back with Kings SL/SSL's.

Got a quote from another suspension place in Perth and it was $1050 for just Lovells coils with front Lovells shocks, another 330 for the rear shocks then labour on top of that (said they're pretty easy to install so could probably do rear myself, fronts would be coming out to do coils so may aswell do the shocks too)

$1104 seems ok I guess. $400 labour is a bit more that what I'd pay but they have to make money somehow.

Do the shocks now or you'll want to do them within a couple of weeks.

I know cos that's what I did...

Yeah 1104 is the whole lot done - shocks and springs front and back, 1050 was just front shocks with coils all around
