After a few heat cycles they get smaller and go hard, so the nuts have less tension on them, then they unwind.It's kind of funny that the nuts still come loose on a lot of them though.I'd put it on there, and put some Anchor Locks or something similar on the nuts, haven't seen any problems so far. 1 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

When I had the engine replaced it was gone. I asked about it and was told (not a ford dealer/mech) that the gasket expands and cools at a different rate to the turbo housing and manifold which lets the studs and nuts loosen off. I took mine off for wastegate port and now the spooling sounds louder? so im not real sure if its due to the mod or if its leaking from manifold to turbo. anyone else noticed changes in sound after wastegate mod?
