I dont think it makes much difference as they will both hold the same boost the only thing it lets you do is adjust boost on the go and also give you the ability to run different boost levels in different gears other then that not much

Eboost has a lot of good features and is a very good choice on some turbo cars, but the ford turbo control is very good for what it does so it almost makes the eboost a waste of money except for some of the extra features already mentioned.

But can a high and low boost tune be done and have it hooked to a switch

I really like using eBoosts and I'll explain why. 1) adjusting boost on the fly. Who wouldn't like this? 2) the gate pressure function......I'm yet to see a non factory tune in closed loop...all have been open loop running diffectly off the wastegate duty cycle table. This means that a commanded duty cycle is referenced at different RPM values and air charge temp. The problem with this is there is no load reference. For example at 3500rpm in 1st gear you may need 100% duty cycle to reach 16psi whereas in 6th gear you may need 75% duty cycle (BA/BF). There is no way an open loop tune can get around this and you end up having slightly different boost profiles across gears...it can also lead to overshoot in gears above what was used for during the tuning process. The eBoost works by referencing a 'set point' once a particular gate pressure has been reached. So no matter what gear you're in and what load is on the car, as soon as you hit your gate pressure of say 12psi the solenoid will start cycling and the gate cracks to meet your target boost pressure. I also find that a lot of tuners just tune in Shoot6F on the dyno and it only replicates a narrow range of what is experienced on the street. I find that after being on the dyno you end up with a touch more boost on the street so you have to wind it back a touch.....this takes two seconds witg the eBoost. SO in short the eBoost is great, I rate them highly. The factory controller works well but don't discount a good aftermarket controller.
