The "Cobra" copies are really early ones...

The later copies have the correct shade of grey..or close enough. Original FPV caps are aluminum and dont fit. Bit of machining and they will. The circlip that locks them in isn't deep enough in the wheel for it to lock into position. I know as I purchased FPV caps to fit to my copies before I on sold them.

For those that dont want to go to the hassle of expense of original FPV caps theres a way of achieving the "look" at a fraction of the price. Go into ford spare parts and you can purchase the metal FPV key rings. They are the same size as the logo in the centre cap. Grind the tab off where it attachés though the key chain and basically araldite them on. They look great.. But make sure you get the "thinner" keyring.. theres a thicker on that will stick out too far..

Yeh been on ebay. There is one set on there for $290 which is rediculous.

Not sure why they cant just sell them with the wheels.

I havent rung/ dropped into ford yet. But dreading my visit to them, my guess is probably $100 p/cap.

From memory, they are about $60.00 a Cap, from Ford.

They are alloy!

I scored a set on a set of second hand Rimes and found they don't fit well and rattle when you are mobile.

Don't know exactly where they are now.

- Rotting in the Shed somewhere!

Better off with the plastic one's.

Thanks for the info guys!

The wheel shop have sourced a set of "proper" dark argent replicas that I am after and should be here friday with "fpv" center caps ...

Fingers crossed everything will be correct.

Might even upload some pics if everything is right.

Cheers, John.

No show for the rims on friday... Got to wait till wednesday now....

The reason I didnt get the light grey ones was because my car colour is ego (charcoal) and light grey rims on charcoal car would look wrong IMO...

Although they would have looked quite the piece on your white ute fordfreak.

but again... Fingers crossed they turn up before the end of the week.

Hey Guys. Sorry for the neglect on this thread...

Got the rims only about two weeks ago, had them put on and drove home. Only to find when I got home the paint job was crap on them. So went back and got a refund.

I am now driving down to sydney on saturday and going to look at some "99% replica" dark argents, apparently they have the alloy center caps and apparently even have a ford stamp on them (God only knows how that works) but il take his word for it.

These wheels are at Top Class Tyres in Moorebank, Sydney. Any of you Sydney guys heard much about these wheels or the wheel shop?

Cheers again, John

Here are the pics of the crappy wheels.

Just to let you guys know, dont waste your time with All Wheels Australia. They have been nothing but a pain in the arse, and I have had two previous sets of wheels that have had clear coat peel on me after only 6-8 months. Which they only replaced one set, and refuse to replace the wheels a second time.

And after I pay $1120 for a new set of wheels this is what I have been given.

Thought id just give everyone a heads up, might come in use for someone hunting for a set of quality wheels in the future.

John.
