Hey lads new to the forums, looks great.

I made the change from Expensive Daewoo 6 months ago and brought a xr6t, ive only had one problem since buying it, now the problem is the car revs to around.3.5k to 4k then it wont rev no more its like it struggles gaining.any mkre power or starved for fuel, so when it done this I changed gears and it made a huge bang noise like the gearbox or diff was going to drop out of it, has anyone experianced or heard of this before? Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Car is a bf xr6 turbo, auto, with 80 thou kms

It also does not do this all the time, and yiu have to be harshly accelerating for it to happen, it only started.when I put a bov on it that does not plumb back, I noticed was of the hoses was split going to the fuel railo I replaced that to, doesnt seem to leak now

Cheers hopefully I explained it enough

Ok after reading and googleing, I think it's overboosting? (first turbo car, I have no idea what it is, so I guess I better get educated haha), anyways a quick question, would faulty coil packs cause it to overboost? Or a vacuum leak?

Or am I better off taking it to fords and getting them to put it on the scan tool, it should pick it up?

Thanks again

I'm unsure whether a BOV will cause these to OverBoost but you need to be careful. The Boost in the Falcons is electronically controlled by the ECU and modifying the turbo/exhaust in almost any way will require a tune.

In broken hill, the car is completely stock standard, I read another article saying that if you change the bov, something to do with airflow makes the ecu go mental :/

Soon as I get it back from the crash repairs (some drunk guy tboned me) I might get some silicon hose and replace it around the bov, and take it to fords and check error codes.

Then when that prob is fixed, I'm thinking of ordering a process west or pwr intercooler and mail order tune.

Thanks for replays guys

Sounds like you'd be best off collecting parts over time and making a full trip of it to see a reputable tune shop!

Can recommend intercooler, fuel system (intank pump, injectors, surge tank ), and exhaust as a strong first round of mods. Exhaust could just be dump and cat if you like, I hear the BF exhausts aren't bad once those are changed out.

That's assuming the car runs OK once they sort out the current issue!

Mm bit of a *beep*, but im sure it will end up being fixed.

steVe your going to have to give me some websites to start ordering :P

Just drop D repeatadly until the issue resolves itself

So the box drops out, creates chaos and leaves me fred flintestoning it? lol best idea ever
