Alrighty then, am looking at finally putting on the Dark Chrome Strada's I got from Luke a while back with my tax return (should I get anything haha).

Need some tyres for them, so what should I be going. Keep in mind it's a stock daily driver, so I don't need top of the range, over the top tyres. At best they'll need to be able to handle 300rwkw's which is what I'm hoping to get down the line with a few mods.

Toyo/Kuhmo/Dunlop/other?

If I can get away with $200 a corner I'm happy. I know you say don't skimp out on tyres as they're like brakes - get the best for safety reasons and what not, but if I don't need the best (which I won't) I'd like to try save some coin on that.

Advice/suggestions?

Oh, I'm 100% clueless when it comes to wheels and what not so any and all advice is taken in and appreciated.

Try ebay achillies I've never used them but I've heard they're good for the money. I'll most likely try them as my next tyre.

Just get the widest tyre you can fit on the rim. I noticed a pretty big difference going from a 255 to a 235 on my 17s.

So how does it work with front/rear sizes? I gather it's better to have bigger tyres on the rears but will any tyre 19" fit any size 19" rim?

Well in the case of a falcon the front tyre size doesn't matter so much as you won't really be doing track work so a 245 should do the trick. Plus you can't really fit much wider on there.

As for the rear, the wider the better as the more power you make the more traction becomes an issue. Especially if boost is tuned to come on hard.

You can't just go and put a 300 wide tyre on an 8" rim so there are limits. Generally 255 wide is about the max for an 8" rim.

What size are the rims you have?

Would I need to do any guard rolling?

I don't think the 275's would fit on rear, I recall Luke saying he swapped his out for 9.5 rears so he could fit a 275

No guard rolling needed but there's your answer for the width. Looks like a 255-265 max for the rear.

Or just fit 245's all round and deal with the loss of traction haha. If you ease into it it won't try and light the tyres up as easy.
